Well, the Summer Scream event at Foyles was fun. And I managed to talk without notes too, though that did mean some strategic water sipping at times. Plus, I didn’t talk for long which – with me — is always a plus.
I was on the panel with Ruth Warburton and Laura Powell, who were both charming and good company. Their books – A Witch in Winter and Burn Mark – are definitely worth a look. And though the audience had thinned out a little over the day (we were in the second slot), those who remained were a great bunch, who asked interesting questions and didn’t throw things. And the unmentionable wasn’t mentioned until the signing at the end, by which time I didn’t mind talking about it all.
I’m pleased to say all my books were signed and sold, and I now have some fab new twitter contacts. So, a successful event! Thanks to all those who came, and if you bought my book, I hope you enjoy it.
Sounds like it was a good day all round. I’m off to seek out your fellow panellists now!
congratulations on a successful event! Looking forward to reading Haunters myself.
Thank you, both. It was a lot of fun:)
Sounds great. Well done on the talking without notes thing! Wish I could have been there.
Thanks, Simon. I’m no natural at these things, but I do think it’s better to talk freely than read out. A nervy business though.
